Welcome to Sourire Belgian Sheepdogs, nestled in
the lovely countryside in the Northwest corner of New Jersey. My
name is Judy Hoffman and along with my husband Jay, daughter Lacy
and son Jon we train, raise and occasionally breed these beautiful,
intelligent dogs.
Originally when I acquired my first Belgian I wanted nothing more
than to train her to become a therapy and visit pediatric cancer
patients.
My first Belgian Sheepdog was from Kennel Donatrix in Finland and
bred by Carola Roselt. Her name was Donatrix Odine-Gibsy, we called
her Magic. Magic was the best introduction into the world of Belgian
Sheepdogs I could have ever wanted. She was friendly, outgoing,
trained easily and did anything I asked of her. She was very happy
go lucky, always smiling and adventurous. It is no surprise to me
now that she was killed by a car shortly after her first birthday. I
miss her everyday. She was a blessing to me!
Calling
Carola to explain Magic’s death was truly very hard. But Carola
being the wonderful friend she is offered me another female from her
beloved Donatrix Altesse. This is where Donatrix Quarelle enters my
life and my life has not been the same
since then. Loving, training and
living with Kira has
been a whirlwind of learning, heartache at times but most of all
Kira keeps me on my toes, keeps me thinking of new
things to teach her and makes me very proud to own a
Belgian Sheepdog! She never refuses, she rarely complains and she
always learns and even better Kira teaches me! I couldn’t ask for a
better canine partner.
This
site is dedicated to our son and brother, Cody William Hoffman –
7/13/1995 – 5/29/1999. Thank you Cody for coming into our lives and
changing us forever. We love and miss you every day!
So step inside and enjoy your visit.
Warm Regards,
Judy Hoffman
